The 20-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Perugia, with seven goals in 17 appearances convincing parent club Cagliari to recall him for the second part of the campaign.

There was then speculation that he’d sign for Juve and be loaned back to Sardinia, but that move never materialised and he’s now back on loan in Serie B with the Grifone.

“I’m not directly aware of anything happening in the summer,” Sandro Stemperini explained to calciomercato.com.

“It may be that, in the many meetings between Juventus and Cagliari, they went back to talking about Han but if so it was a discussion only between the two clubs.

“For January I’m certain because I was in those meetings and I worked on it. It wasn’t simply that the clubs didn’t agree, there was a difference between supply and demand.

“It was a complicated negotiation because it involved several other players, and unfortunately it wasn’t successful.”

Han has gone off the goalscoring boil somewhat this season, failing to find the net in his solitary appearance so far.
