Rabiot’s current deal expires in June 2019 and he will be free to negotiate a free transfer to a new club from January onwards.
A host of top European clubs are rumoured to be interested in the 23-year-old’s signature, including Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Liverpool and Manchester City.
But it seems they might be disappointed.
According to Canal + journalist Olivier Tallaron, the French midfielder has now decided he wants to stay at PSG and could sign a new three-year contract as soon as this week.
Rabiot has previously rejected four renewal offers from the Ligue 1 champions and has reportedly already held negotiations with Barça over a summer move.
But the trust placed in him by new Parisiens boss Thomas Tuchel this season, along with a very attractive remuneration package, appears to have convinced the player to make a dramatic u-turn and stay where he is.
PSG face Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday before a huge clash with Marseille in Ligue 1 next Sunday, and reports suggest Rabiot’s new deal could be officially announced in the build-up to the game they call Le Classique.
