Ederson has won a lot of praise this season for his ability to come out of his goal and diffuse danger.
That is, after all, one of the reasons why he was brought to Manchester City by Pep Guardiola.
But sometimes goalkeepers rushing out can have pretty disastrous consequences and that was the case during Cityâs Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.
The Brazilian inexplicably darted out to meet his compatriot, Shakhtarâs Ismaily, but the goalkeeper never got anywhere near the ball.
Ismaily was left with the relatively simple task of passing the ball into an empty net to give Shakhtar a shock 2-0 lead.
Bernard had opened the scoring a few minutes earlier.
