Hero Hendrick saves Clarets late

Brighton and Burnley shared the points as a late Jeff Hendrick goal rescued his side from defeat on the south coast.

In a close affair, Dwight McNeil almost manufactured an early own goal, while a Solly March drive was as close as the hosts came in the opening 45 minutes.

After the break, the home side took the lead through summer signing Neal Maupay when he volleyed in the opener.

But the Irishman ensured that his side would not leave empty-handed when he fizzed a fine low strike into the corner to equalise in injury time.

Rashford fends Foxes off for key win

Manchester United snapped a three-game winless streak when they handed Leicester City a first defeat of the season.

Leicester came close to the opener early when David de Gea saved brilliantly at close range from James Maddison before United hit the front.

Marcus Rashford got in front of Çağlar Söyüncü in the box and when he was brought down, he picked himself up to dispatch the penalty with ease.

After that, the hosts were largely comfortable defensively and almost grabbed a fantastic second, only for a late Rashford free-kick to curl against the angle of post and crossbar.

Moussa magic settles it

Moussa Djenepo’s second half strike settled an anxious affair at Bramall Lane, one which the hosts will feel hard done by in losing.

This game only really kicked into high gear after the break when Oli McBurnie thought he had lifted the pressure on his shoulders with the opener.

But VAR denied him that moment before the Saints grabbed all three points through a goal worthy of winning any game.

Djenepo’s solo finish settled a game that the Blades ended with 10 men when Billy Sharp was shown a straight red card – in what appeared to be harsh circumstances.

Son stars as Spurs thrash Palace

Tottenham got their work done early against Crystal Palace as they picked up their first win since the opening weekend.

Heung-min Son scored twice in the opening 23 minutes either side of a Patrick van Aanholt own goal, aided in large part by Serge Aurier on his return to the side.

Both the South Korean’s goals were well taken, the second in particular being a sumptuous volley, with the fourth arriving via an easy finish from Erik Lamela.

It was much more like it from Spurs but for Palace, there will be some concern that this was their strongest line-up and they were so easily swatted aside within one half of football.

Abraham excels with record-setting hat-trick

You put your faith in youth and eventually you will be rewarded as Frank Lampard was away at Wolves, with Tammy Abraham stepping up in a big way at Molineux.

Lampard’s young guns came to the fore in a tough contest against opposition who have always impressed of late against the division’s big six.

A wonder goal from Fikayo Tomori got things going before Tammy Abraham took over and sent himself top of the league’s scoring charts with a fantastic hat-trick.

Multiple goals are becoming something of a speciality for the academy product who is proving each week that he belongs at the Bridge.

The homegrown players netting didn’t stop there either as Mason Mount piled in with an injury time-strike after Wolves had scored twice in the second half, adding the extras to another exciting Chelsea affair.
