A three-game winless skid was snapped by Manchester United against struggling Norwich City at Old Trafford as they hit four without reply against Norwich.

Shortly before the half hour mark, the hosts grabbed the goal their dominance deserved when Juan Mata picked out Marcus Rashford with a perfect pass, allowing the striker to crash home.

A wonderful save from David de Gea kept his side in the box seat at the break as he produced a strong left hand to keep out a low Todd Cantwell curler.

United put the game beyond doubt within eight minutes of the restart with two quickfire goals to end any hope of a Canaries comeback.

Rashford firstly drove in an unstoppable penalty before Anthony Martial popped up with a rare header to make it three, which should have been four had Brandon Williams not blasted over from three yards out with an open goal gaping.

United did get their fourth when Mason Greenwood was summoned off the bench and found the net with an almost effortless low left-footed strike from 25 yards out.

Chelsea ease to overdue home victory

Callum Hudson-Odoi bagged a first Premier League goal as Chelsea eased to a comfortable win over Burnley after an early VAR scare at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have had problems at home this season and they looked close to resurfacing when Burnley had the ball in the net early, only for an offside flag to narrowly rule out the effort.

Having played their early get out of jail free card, the Blues hit the front when Willian won a questionable penalty which was dispatched by Jorginho.

Tammy Abraham notched his 13th of the campaign to give his side a two-goal lead at the break when his downward header evaded Nick Pope, who should have saved it but was perhaps put off by a retreating Ben Mee.

Four minutes after half-time, Frank Lampard’s men added a third when Hudson-Odoi benefited from a good cross and bad marking to slide in at the back post to score his first Premier League goal.

Ings’ revenge mission stuns Leicester

Southampton came from behind to somehow stun the side who had beaten them 9-0 earlier in the season as two of Brendan Rodgers’ former players scored against him at the King Power Stadium.

The action to start this one off was fast-paced and frenetic as an early Leicester break ended with Dennis Praet driving in at the far post.

But Saints hit back to level on 18 minutes when Stuart Armstrong found a pocket of space just inside the area, with his strike taking a big deflection to veer past Kasper Schmeichel.

If the Saints were enjoying that little bit of Lady Luck, they were soon cursing it as Danny Ings twice rattled the bar before the break to keep things level.

But the red-hot Ings wouldn’t be denied a third time and timed a perfect late run in behind to race through and poke under Schmeichel to secure a shock win, although they did survive a late scare when the Foxes had a second goal of the day ruled out with the help of VAR.

Newcastle overcome injuries for Molineux point

Despite the injuries piling up in a big way at Newcastle, it didn’t manage to deter them from battling to a 1-1 draw at Wolves.

What’s that old saying about goals and buses? After waiting so long to break his duck, he now has three in the last three weeks after opening the scoring at Molineux.

Making just his second start of the season, Dwight Gayle did brilliantly to pick out the Paraguayan who slammed a sumptuous strike into the corner.

The lead didn’t last long though as Leandro Dendoncker benefited from some shocking Newcastle defending from a corner to find the net.

Steve Bruce’s squad management then came under the microscope as the Magpies lost both Paul Dummett and Dwight Gayle to injury before half-time, while Joelinton also pulled up with a problem.

Matt Doherty came close to adding to the misery only for a last gasp block to deny him before Martin Dúbravka pulled off a stunning save to secure what could be a key point.

Richarlison fires Everton to morale-boosting win

Everton went some way towards building bridges after their desperate derby defeat as a moment of Richarlison magic sunk Brighton on Merseyside.

Given all Everton have been through in the past week, they badly needed a bit of luck to go their way to get a disgruntled Goodison support back on side.

But things didn’t work out like that when both the referee and VAR felt a blatant Lewis Dunk pull back on Theo Walcott wasn’t worthy of a penalty. Unfortunately, that seems to be the punishment for a player staying on his feet.

Stay on his nifty feet was exactly what Richarlison did on 38 minutes though as he span past a challenge in the area before picking out the corner with a sweet finish.

Everton were still made to live on their nerves though and Leandro Trossard rattled the bar after half-time when the visitors switched to a back four and looked livelier but without a leveller ever arriving.
