With 28 goals in 22 appearances so far this season, Erling Braut Haaland is hot property.

A rumoured release clause of just over €20m means a January transfer is on the cards.

But where next for the big Norwegian?

RB Leipzig

The step from one Red Bull club to another seems like an obvious one and Haaland would be following a path successfully trodden by many others.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are superbly well-drilled and play with two strikers, suiting Haaland and the way he likes to link up play. Their fast, aggressive, direct style mirrors the Salzburg side that he has already shone in.

On top of all that, they’re already competing for major honours and a January arrival could just give them the kick they need in the Bundesliga title race and the Champions League.

Against

Maybe it doesn’t feel like a big enough step? Maybe the move just wouldn’t be emotionally enticing enough, unlike other European giants who are interested?

And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. There’s no guarantee that Nagelsmann would happily rotate his frontline to give Haaland game time at the expense of the excellent partnership forged by Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen.

Likelihood: 7/10

Manchester United

Manchester United are truly a massive club and the idea of leading the line as they look to rebuild must be mouthwatering.

Imagine playing up front for the next five years with Rashford, Martial, Daniel James supporting and supplying you. Imagine restoring Manchester United to their former glory.

All that and the opportunity to do it with a fellow Norwegian. Ole Gunnar Solkkjaer already coached Haaland at Molde, too.

He has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer. He won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot.

Against

All that pressure. Look what big money moves to Old Trafford have done to the reputations of Paul Pogba and Memphis Depay. Even Anthony Martial to some extent.

Then there’s United’s ongoing youth project. Will they play Haaland if it means less time for Rashford or Mason Greenwood to come into their own?

Haaland is a self-confessed Leeds United fan after his dad played in the Premier League for both the Whites and for Manchester City. Could he really be tempted to go against all that and turn out in red?

Likelihood: 5/10

Borussia Dortmund

Recent years have seen Dortmund establish a reputation as the home of nurturing young talent.

You want to play in front of 80,000 fans and compete for titles? Regular football? An attractive style? But still not quite sure on making the leap to the very top and want time to develop further before one of the true Champions League contenders comes calling?

Then this is the place to be. Just ask Mario Götze, Ousmane Dembélé, Christian Pulisic, Jadon Sancho or Achraf Hakimi.

Against

Dortmund have recently settled into a 3-4-3 shape with Marco Reus down the middle. Haaland certainly won’t be taking his place.

Even when a more natural striker does occupy the role, he’d have to battle with Paco Alcácer. So is football as a regular starter really guaranteed this season?

Likelihood: 8/10

Juventus

The chance to play for one of Europe’s best sides already and learn from Cristiano Ronaldo?

A move to Juventus, who are strongly interested, can’t be ruled out.

Against

Firstly there’s the playing time. Juventus are already struggling to fit Ronaldo in with Gonzalo Higuaín and Paulo Dybala both enjoying superb seasons. How would Haaland come in here?

Secondly, Juve’s rumoured wage offer is around €3.5m
it’s definitely not bad. But it’s not close to the €8m Haaland reportedly wants and would get from some of the other interested parties.

Likelihood: 2/10
