Sergio Ramos has been handed a two-game ban by Uefa for what they’ve deemed was a deliberate yellow card away at Ajax in their Champions League last 16 first leg clash.
The Real Madrid defender earned himself a booking late on in Amsterdam knowing that it would earn him an automatic suspension for the second leg, and then wipe his slate clean for the rest of the tournament.
Ramos protested his innocence after the game when he was challenged that he intentionally got himself suspended.
And Uefa have taken the view that it was done on purpose and that he will now be suspended for an extra game.
That means, should Los Blancos make it to the quarter-finals, Ramos will be missing for the first leg.
