Sergio Ramos has asked Real Madrid to let him leave on a free transfer to a club in the Chinese Super League.

That’s according to various reports in Spain on Monday, which claim Ramos has received a “very attractive economic offer” to move to the Far East.

Both Diario AS and La Sexta report that the Madrid captain, along with his brother and agent, held a meeting with president Florentino Pérez at which he indicated his desire to leave.

There are also suggestions that Ramos could still be tempted to stay at the Bernabéu by the offer of an improved contract. His current deal still has two seasons left to run, however.

Ramos and Pérez are reported to have fallen out following Los Blancos shock Champions League exit in March, and the defender has been considering his options ever since.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to have expressed an interest in his services.

A report from Marca earlier on Monday suggested manager Zinedine Zidane was feeling “confident” about Ramos staying at the club.

But the latest speculation throws fresh doubt on the four-time Champions League winner’s future.
