Daniel Stendel and Barnsley have parted ways after the club’s awful start to the season.
The Championship side won their opening league game of the campaign but have failed to win any of the 10 since, leaving them 23rd in the table.
Just a few months ago, Stendel led Barnsley to promotion from League One. The Tykes picked up 91 points last season to earn a place in England’s second tier.
A startlingly brief statement on the club’s website read:
“Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager.”
