The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in January and February next year.

Last year’s tournament – won by Algeria – was held in the summer to avoid disrupting players through their domestic seasons.

Following this decision, Premier League clubs are expected to take a significant hit with African players plying their trade at several top clubs.

Liverpool are set to lose the likes of Naby Keïta, Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, while Arsenal could be without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pépé for six games.

Other players like Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) and Wilfried Ndidi (Leicester) will also be expecting call-ups for their national sides.
