Spanish police have detained a number of important figures in football as they investigate match fixing allegations.

According to El Mundo, current and former players are set to be questioned, along with a club president.

The report says former Real Madrid midfielder Raúl Bravo is one of the players police have taken into custody.

Borja Fernández, who played in LaLiga this season with Real Vallodolid, has also been

Samuel Sáiz, who is on loan at Getafe from Leeds, is also involved, along with Íñigo López Montaña of Deportivo.

Three of the players involved – Bravo, Fernández and Carlos Aranda – played together at Real Madrid Castilla during the 2001/02 season.

Huesca president Agustín Lasaosa and Juan Carlos Galindo Lanuza, head of the medical services at Huesca, have also been taken in for questioning.
