The Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced Neymar’s for suspension from three to two Uefa matches for insulting match officials.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward was originally handed a three-match ban after he labelled the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system “a disgrace” following his side’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Manchester United last season.

United were awarded a decisive injury time penalty in that game for a handball against Presnel Kimpembe and afterwards, Neymar vented his fury via his official Instagram account.

But PSG lodged an appeal against the suspension in June and on Tuesday, the CAS confirmed the ban would be reduced to two matches.

That means the 27-year-old will still miss Wednesday’s clash with Real Madrid as well as the trip to face Galatasaray on 1 October.

But he will now be available for selection when Thomas Tuchel’s side face Club Brugge on matchday three.

After a summer of speculation linking him with a return to Barcelona, Neymar finally made his first appearance of the season when he netted last gasp winning goal in PSG’s 1-0 victory over Strasbourg on Saturday.
