Manchester City could be about to pull off a late contender for the weirdest signing of the summer.
According to The Mirror, the Premier League champions are plotting loan move for 33-year-old Scott Carson.
Yep, you read that right. Scott. Carson.
The 33-year-old is currently still at Derby County and had been linked with a move to the Rams’ rivals Nottingham Forest this summer.
But Pep Guardiola is in search of a third choice keeper to provide back-up for Ederson and Claudio Bravo and it seems former Liverpool and Aston Villa veteran Carson could be his man.
Earlier in the summer, City were linked with experienced Spanish goalkeeper Asier Riesgo from Eibar, but that move ultimately failed to materialise.
