Looks like Arsenal have pipped Spurs to William Saliba

Arsenal are set to beat fierce rivals Tottenham to the signature of Saint-Étienne defender William Saliba.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, the Gunners have agreed a €29m plus bonuses deal for Saliba, who will be loaned back to Saint-Étienne for the 2019/20 season.

Further reports claim the 18-year-old has signed five year deal at the Emirates Stadium, and an official announcement is expected imminently.

Saliba reportedly attracted attention from a number of clubs this summer – including Spurs – but his desire was always to join Arsenal.

He is expected to undergo a medical and officially join the north London club on Tuesday once Saint-Étienne have returned from their pre-season trip to Washington.
