Lionel Messi has once again won the Ballon d’Or on Monday evening.

It is a record sixth time the Argentine has scooped the award.

Messi has shone for Barcelona in 2019, leading the club to the LaLiga title last season.

In this calendar year, he has netted 46 goals and provided 17 assists in 53 appearances for club and country.

Virgil van Dijk finished second, while Cristiano Ronaldo finished third, and Sadio Mané came in fourth place.
