Agent Mino Raiola has received €10m for his part in the deal.

De Ligt’s contract, which runs for five years, is worth up to €12m-a-year and possesses a €150m release clause, which should become active in 2022.

The Dutch defender shone last season, captaining Ajax to a domestic double and the Champions League semi-final.

A fantastic season saw him establish himself as the leading young defender in world football.

The likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have all shown interest this summer. Juventus, though, have won the race for the 19-year-old.
