Jürgen Klopp says Liverpool feel “lucky” captain Jordan Henderson has only been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Henderson suffered the problem during Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Atlético Madrid, and was withdrawn after 80 minutes.
The 29-year-old looks set to miss the second leg against Atlético at Anfield on March 11, but could return for the Merseyside derby on March 16.
“It could have been worse. We all know it was a hamstring thing,” Klopp told reporters on Friday.
“There are a lot of different hamstring injuries around in the Premier League – Harry Kane, for example, stuff like that. It’s not that bad.
“He will be out for three weeks or so, which is not cool. But how we see it is that we’re lucky.”
Liverpool return to domestic action against West Ham on Monday.
