Sheffield Wednesday have announced that Garry Monk has been named as the club’s new first team manager.
Lee Bullen had presided over first team duties of the Owls following Steve Bruce’s surprise summer exit to take over at Newcastle.
But Monk has now been confirmed by the Hillsborough outfit as their new permanent boss.
He did a fine job at Birmingham City last season, keeping an unfancied Blues side in the Championship against the odds.
However, falling a summer rift with the club hierarchy, Monk left St Andrew’s.
Wednesday currently sit in 11th place in the Championship table after their opening six games of the season.
