Barcelona have confirmed that Lucas Digne has left the club’s pre-season tour to finalise a move away.
Digne has been strongly linked with a €25m move to Everton and late on Sunday evening, a tweet from Barça’s official Twitter account confirmed the French left-back is set to leave the La Liga giants.
“Lucas Digne travels today to Barcelona with the club’s permission to finalise his departure from the club,” read the tweet.
The 25-year-old made just 20 appearances under Ernesto Valverde last season and is reportedly keen to move away in search of regular first team football.
The former Roma and Paris Saint-Germain is seen as a successor to Leighton Baines at Goodison Park, and the Toffees are believed to have agreed to pay €22m up front for his services, with a further €3m to follow in bonuses.
Marco Silva’s side have so far won just one of their five pre-season friendlies – a 22-0 victory over Austrian side ATV Irdning – and the Portuguese will be hoping to bolster his ranks further before the start of the new season.
