Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been named England’s Men’s Player of the Year for 2019.
The Reds captain beat off competition from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane after helping his club lift the Champions League, the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Club World Cup last year.
Henderson made seven appearances for England in 2019 as Gareth Southgate’s side secured qualification for EURO 2020 and and finished third in the Uefa Nations League finals.
The 29-year-old has now earned a total of 55 caps but is yet to net his first international goal.
Meanwhile, Olympique Lyonnais Féminin midfielder Lucy Bronze was named England’s Women’s Player of the Year following her sensational performances at last summer’s World Cup in France.
