Eden Hazard will almost certainly miss El Clasico on December 18 after an ankle injury he picked up against Paris Saint-Germain was revealed to be worse than first thought.

Real Madrid have also confirmed that Marcelo has picked up a calf problem, but have failed to say how long the Brazilian will be sidelined.

Although there has been no confirmation from Los Blanco yet as to exactly how long Hazard will be out for, El Chiringuito have revealed that the Belgian has a micro-fracture in his right ankle and will miss the match against Barcelona.

The game at Camp Nou was due to take place at the end of October but has been moved to two weeks time after demonstrations in the Catalan city.

A press release sent out by Los Blancos only confirmed that the Belgian has a small fracture, but injuries like that can take up to two months to recover from.

Marcelo meanwhile has pulled a muscle in his calf and will be in a race against time to be fit for Real Madrid’s biggest game of the campaign.
