Club legend Neil Harris steps down as Millwall boss | OneFootball

Neil Harris has left his role as Millwall manager on Thursday evening, the club have confirmed.

A club legend, Harris took over in 2015 and led Millwall to promotion to the Championship in 2017.

Millwall, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, have won none of their last seven Championship games after taking seven points from their first three outings of the season.

“Firstly I would like to place on record my sincere gratitude to Neil for all of his hard work, commitment, determination and inarguable success as manager of this great football club,” said Millwall chairman John Berylson.

“During his time in charge we have achieved so much and so many of his greatest moments as manager will live long in the memory of all Millwall fans fortunate to have seen and enjoyed them.

“Neil’s achievements ensure that he is listed alongside some of the club’s greatest-ever managers, furthering his legendary standing at Millwall.

Adam Barrett, who is a candidate for the vacant manager’s role at Southend United, will now lead the team on a temporary basis.
