Starting with a full strength team, Hansi Flick’s men went behind to a Michael Frey goal. Alphonso Davies levelled it up before the break but things would only get worse afterwards.

Both teams were unrecognisable after half-time. Bayern changed all 11 players, while Nürnberg made 10 changes.

Bayern’s second half line up featured a number of players on the fringes of the first team but they didn’t take their chance.

Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich was joined by summer signings Michael Cuisance and Fiete Arp, plus highly-rated youngsters like Joshua Zirkzee, Lars Lukas Mai and Oliver Batista Meier.
