Aston Villa have completed the signing of Ezri Konsa from Brentford.
The Premier League newcomers have spent a reported £12m on the defender.
“Ezri fits the profile of the type of player we were searching for,” said Villa boss Dean Smith, who managed Konsa in west London.
“It helps that Richard O’Kelly and I have worked with him before.
“He’s a high-potential player who I believe can step up to the Premier League and I’m really looking forward to working with him again.”
Konsa becomes Villa’s second defensive signing in quick succession after the club agreed a deal worth up to £26m to sign Tyrone Mings.
