Mexico clinched their eighth Concacaf Gold Cup title with a 1-0 victory over the United States on Sunday.
The game’s only goal came courtesy LA Galaxy midfielder Jonathan dos Santos, who finished brilliantly off the crossbar after being set up by a clever Raúl Jiménez back-heel.
Many were quick to point out that the goal was similar to the one scored by Jonathan’s brother Giovani against the USMNT in the 2011 Gold Cup final.
What a lovely piece of brotherly symmetry.
