Corinthians defeated Botafogo 2-0 at Arena Corinthians to move to fifth place in the Campeonato Brasileiro with 27 points.
Boselli and Everalso found the back of the net both thanks to great set-ups by Pedrinho as Corinthians dominated Botafogo from start to finish.
Corinthians tried to pressure Botafogo early in the game and created problems for the visitors, especially attacking from the right side. Botafogo encountered many difficulties reaching the attack.
Despite having spent almost the entire first stage trying to get in the Botafogo side of the pitch. Corinthians was had some quality dangerous in long shots, with Pedrinho and Everaldo.
In the 41st minute, after Pedrinho’s own move, Boselli received a cross from the box and swerved first to open the scoring.
Early in the second half, Pedrinho was launched on the right, cut inside and kicked firmly, which was deflected by the Botafogo keeper, but Everaldo was able to grab the rebound to make it 2-0.
Corinthians will now face Fluminense on Thursday for the Sul-Americana before heading to Avaí on Sunday for the next round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
