Vancouver Whitecaps have been hanging in the Western Conference top positions with draws in their last four games, but they finally came out with a much needed win on the road against the worst team in MLS right now, Colorado Rapids.

The key for the Whitecaps was Yordy Reyna, the Peruvian winger that was left out of Peru’s World Cup squad.

Reyna setup Cristian Techera’s early goal.

Late in the second half, Reyna buried a powerful shot for the Canadian club to take a two-goal lead.

Edgar Castillo pulled one back for the Rapids with a rocket from outside the box. That was ‘Hommie’s’ first goal in MLS.

Gashi came close to equalising in the second half, but in the end, Colorado’s comeback attempt fell short.

The Rapids have now suffered seven straight defeats.
