A little further into their pre-season, it was no real surprise to see Arsenal dominate early proceedings.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked particularly impressive throughout the first half but the biggest save was forced by Thomas MĂŒller.

The German directed a low cross towards goal, only to be denied low down by Bernd Leno.

After a goalless first half, it didn’t take long for Arsenal to take the lead after the break. Henrikh Mkhitaryan found Aubameyang with a chipped past after a smart breakaway and, with the angle too tight to shoot, the Gabonese looked for Alexandre Lacazette in the middle.

Before the ball could reach him, Bayern youngster Louis Poznanski diverted the ball into his own net.

Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry looked particularly lively as Bayern responded well but the Bundesliga champions struggled to create a clearcut chance. When they tried from long range, Emiliano MartĂnez was equal to their efforts.

After Aubameyang failed to connect with a low cross and Reiss Nelson was denied by Joshua Kimmich, Bayern hit back.

A superb chipped cross from Gnabry was met by Robert Lewandowski, who headed home to level up the scores.

Both teams pushed for the winner in the remaining 20 minutes, with Aubameyang looking the most likely to make the difference for Arsenal and wingers Gnabry and Coman still the most threatening Bayern players.

The deadlock was eventually broken, though, by two Arsenal youngsters. With just two minutes to go, impressive substitute Eddie Nketiah latched onto a low ball across goal from Tyreece John-Jules to convert.

Moments later, John-Jules ought to have made it 3-1 from close range but fired over the bar.

Next up, Arsenal face Fiorentina on Saturday and Bayern will meet Real Madrid later that same day.
