The last month for América supporters has been a painful one to say the least, ending with a Clåsico Capitalino defeat over the weekend.
After just scraping by Ascenso MX foes Atlético San Luis on 23 January, the Eagles have dropped four of their last six contests in all competitions, including being on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline to their second-division opponents just a week later.
Now, Miguel Herrera and América are in a very unfamiliar position.
Though they have a match in hand, it is the first time since the 2017 Clausura season that América have been positioned outside of the top-eight Liguilla places.
Itâs not all bad news in Mexico City, as a win in their make-up match against Necaxa would bring them up to fifth place, just five points behind leaders Rayados.
Itâs been a tough four weeks for the Eagles, but they are still capable of turning things around and could potentially complete the domestic double.
América 1-0 Atlético San Luis (Copa MX)
Rayados 3-2 América (Liga MX)
Atlético San Luis 2-0 América (Copa MX)
América 2-0 Querétaro (Liga MX)
América 3-1 Necaxa (Copa MX)
América 0-3 León (Liga MX)
Pumas 1-0 América (Liga MX)
