Every club in world football is looking for the next best thing.
And with the transfer window about to close, some teenagers are already shining in their respective leagues.
Here are our top five teenage performances from the weekend …
It would have been rude not to start here!
16-year-old Eduardo Camavinga, making just his third Ligue 1 start, completely bossed the midfield as Rennes beat Paris Saint-Germain.
He misplaced just one of his 42 passes throughout the 90 minutes and even assisted the opening goal for Romain Del Castillo.
Definitely one to keep an eye on.
New Bundesliga season, same Jadon Sancho.
The 19-year-old scored and assisted against Augsburg, meaning he has achieved the same feat in each of his last three Bundesliga seasons.
Borussia Dortmund boast an embarrassment of attacking riches but Sancho is already crucial to their success.
We’re expecting more of the same in future.
Being the second most expensive teenager in history comes with pressure, but João Félix is handling things well.
His incredible solo run (that featured a nutmeg, pirouette and being brought down for a penalty) the world saw why he cost Atlético Madrid so much.
The Portugal international wasn’t always productive, but that show of individual brilliance was almost like watching Kaká for Milan.
We’re excited. You should be too.
Mason Mount won’t be forgetting Sunday in a hurry.
Making yet another Premier League start under Frank Lampard, he scored his first Chelsea goal at Stamford Bridge against Leicester.
Not only did Mount highlight his pressing credentials to score, his link-up play and movement were all top notch in a fluid first-half performance.
Another positive step taken.
Have we got a dark horse on our hands?
Erling Braut Håland – son of ex-Leeds and Manchester City midfielder Alf Inge – has contributed to more goals than any other player in the tipico-Bundesliga (8) this season.
His physical profile is ridiculous, but that is equally matched by a footballing brain and strong technique.
We’re banking on a breakout season.
