Wednesdayâs Champions League last-16 encounter was always likely to be a tough task for Schalke, but they made things much tougher for themselves than they should have been.
Manchester City dominated the opening period and with 18 minutes on the clock, they bagged a precious away goal.
Schalke goalkeeper Ralf FĂ€hrmann passed the ball out to Salif SanĂ©, who didnât see David Silva creeping up behind him.
The Spaniard picked his pocket and fed Sergio AgĂŒero for the simplest of tap-ins.
That was AgĂŒeroâs 34th Champions League goal, drawing him level with Edinson Cavani (34) in third place among non European goalscorers.
Lionel Messi (106) and Didier Drogba (44) still top the charts.
