Dan Burke·14 July 2019
It turns out the 14 July has been a pretty significant date in Manchester City’s recent history.
Back on 14 July 2010, City signed David Silva from Valencia in a deal worth a reported £25m.
The Spaniard has so far notched up 71 goals and 129 assists in 396 appearances, won 10 major trophies and is widely regarded as the finest player in the history of the club.
On 14 July 2015, City paid a then-club record £49m to sign Raheem Sterling from Liverpool.
The 24-year-old England winger currently has 69 goals and 65 assists in 191 appearances, along with two Premier League winners’ medals, two EFL Cups and the FA Cup.
And on 14 July 2017, City made Kyle Walker the world’s most expensive defender when they signed him for £47m from Tottenham.
The England full-back has two goals and eight assists in 100 games to his name so far, and has played an instrumental role in the club’s back-to-back trophy laden campaigns.
Could 14 July 2019 yield another new signing? You never know.
