Leeds United slipped down to 5th in the Championship following a 2-1 defeat away at Millwall on Saturday.
The Lions – who were managed by caretaker boss Adam Barrett in the wake of Neil Harris’s resignation on Thursday – took the lead from the penalty spot after 16 minutes when Leeds defender Gaetano Berardi was adjudged to have fouled Tom Bradshaw in the box.
Berardi was also sent off despite replays showing that no contact had actually been made with Bradshaw.
Leeds confirmed via their official Twitter account on Sunday morning that they will be appealing the decision.
Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa expressed his frustration at the way the game panned out in his post-match press conference.
While the club’s owner Andrea Radrizzani also hit out at the penalty incident via his own Twitter account.
Leeds will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they host Birmingham City at Elland Road after the international break.
