It hasn’t been the most memorable weekend of football generally speaking, but it is one Wycombe Wanderers captain Joe Jacobson is never likely to forget.
Jacobson netted a hat-trick in his side’s 3-1 victory over Lincoln City on Saturday, with two of the goals coming directly from corners!
That second goal was originally credited as an own goal from Wycombe’s Michael Bostwick.
But on Monday, the Dubious Goals Panel reviewed the footage and awarded it to Jacobson.
The hat-trick is made all the more extraordinary by the fact the 32-year-old Welshman is a left-back.
Just look at this technique …
Absolutely marvellous.
