Remember Benoît Assou-Ekotto?
The footballer who famously admitted he didn’t like football?
“I arrive in the morning at the training ground at 10.30 and I start to be professional,” the Tottenham full-back once said in an interview with the Guardian.
“I finish at one o’clock and I don’t play football afterwards. When I am at work, I do my job 100%.
“But after, I am like a tourist in London. I have my Oyster card and I take the tube. I eat.”
Full marks for honesty and full marks for today’s Goal of the Day, which Assou-Ekotto scored for Spurs in a 2-1 win over Liverpool in 2009 …
The former Cameroon international retired at French club Metz in 2018.
Just imagine how good he might have been if he actually gave a shit?
