Named man of the match against Arsenal, Rice has become increasingly important for the Hammers as the season has gone on.

The West Ham academy graduate has played the full 90 minutes in 19 of West Ham’s 22 league games so far this season, anchoring Manuel Pellgrini’s midfield.

Rice has already made headlines this season and there is scrutiny on his international future. As of yet, the teenager hasn’t decided whether to represent Ireland or England.

Born in London, Rice’s grandparents are Irish and the midfielder represented Ireland from U-16 to U-21 level before making his international debut in March last year.

Though he has played for the Irish senior team three times, all of those games were friendlies and he could still choose to switch countries as long as he has not played a competitive match.
