AtlĂ©tico Madrid are playing for the chance to play a Champions League final in their own stadium this season, and theyâre going the right way about it.
Juventus are many punditsâ favourites for this yearâs competition but it looks like they will have a mountain to climb in the second leg.
Substitute Ălvaro Morata thought he had given Atleti the lead in the second half, but his header was ruled out correctly by VAR.
But it didnât take the Rojiblancos to score an indisputable opener, and it was JosĂ© GimĂ©nez who got it.
Then it was Diego Godinâs turn to get in on the action.
Itâs not over for the Bianconeri and Cristiano Ronaldo yet, but theyâre going to need a huge performance in the second leg.
