📰 Story of the day

So much for Liverpool getting nervous and not having the bottle to see off Manchester City.

After seeing them drop four points in their last two games, many started to question Jürgen Klopp’s side. That always seemed ridiculous, considering how good they’d looked for much of the season so far.

Normal service resumed on Saturday and Anfield were treated to a nice easy win. And another clean sheet. This title race is going to the wire.

🗣 Talking points

  • Cardiff are still fighting to stay in this league. They’re out of the relegation zone again after they looked to have dropped points in the final moments. A 92nd minute goal put them back ahead. Think what you want of Neil Warnock, he’s doing a brilliant job.
  • SNAKES AT A GAME. Coming to a cinema near you. If you live close to Vicarage Road. With Marco Silva (and Richarlison) back in town, Watford fans didn’t hold back, hurling abuse at their ex-boss and waving their inflatable snakes around for the entire 90 minutes.
  • Huddersfield, though, are going down. It’s now 13 games without a win for the Terriers and they have just 11 points all season. It’s a long way back from here.

⚽️ Goooolazo

Liverpool’s third goal was the best of the afternoon. A beautiful looped outside of the boot pass from Naby Keïta released Roberto Firmino, who chased the ball into a tight angle on the edge of the box.

Naturally, Mohamed Salah was in the right place at the right time. Firmino found him with a smart backheel and Salah cooly took a touch and passed the ball into the far corner.
