A big rebuild is needed at Manchester United and it starts this summer.

Fresh faces are badly needed in order to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer build the team he wants.

We look at the men who they should bring in to kickstart the process.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

United appear to be closing in on a deal for the Crystal Palace right-back.

With Antonio Valencia out and Ashley Young about to turn 34, this has become a priority position.

Thomas Meunier may be a cheaper option but Wan-Bissaka is young, exciting, Premier League proven and has room to blossom into a star.

Kalidou Kouliably

Let’s face it, without being able to offer Champions League football, Matthijs de Ligt isn’t going to choose Old Trafford over Barcelona, PSG or Juventus.

But there are other centre-backs who may be available for the right (steep) price. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would be tempted into a sale for the right offer.

United are in desperate need of a commanding central defender to whip their backline into shape and the Senegal international would be just that.

Declan Rice

With Daniel James already in the bag, it is evidence of United’s eagerness to go with a young British talent approach – one that made them so successful in the 1990s.

The next step along that road is snapping up one of England’s most talented prospects in West Ham midfielder Rice, who shone last season.

The energy, drive and ability to make opponents uncomfortable which he would provide are all sorely lacking in United’s lethargic midfield.

Bruno Fernandes

It isn’t just enthusiasm and tough-tackling that’s missing at the heart of the action – there’s also a lack of guile and creativity.

Fernandes would provide that in spades, having shown such quality in Italy with Udinese and Sampdoria and in Portugal with Sporting CP.

At 24, he is entering his prime and is coming off the back of a stunning 28-goal and 14-assist campaign and Solskjaer’s system is crying out for a player of his calibre.

Antoine Griezmann

He’s a superstar. He’s available. This is Manchester United.

There is absolutely no excuse for a club of their stature, lack of Champions League football aside, not being in the reckoning for Griezmann.

By all accounts, he may have burned his bridges at Barcelona with his ridiculous documentary and having announced he will leave Atlético, it could limit the options so this one could be on the table.
