José Gomes has been sacked as manager of Reading after less than one year in charge at the Madejski Stadium.
He took over in December of last year to replace caretaker boss Scott Marshall and steered the Royals to safety.
But they have struggled early this season and currently sit 22nd in the Championship with just two wins from 11 games.

“We would like to sincerely thank José for his hard work during his tenure as manager at Reading,” read a club statement.
“We wish him the very best of luck in his future career.
“The club will make no additional comment at this time but will provide further updates as soon as possible.”
Mark Hughes is the big early favourite to take over.
