Mason Mount signs new Chelsea contract

Mason Mount has signed a new five-year contract which will keep him at Chelsea until 2024.

Mount enjoyed an impressive spell under Frank Lampard while on loan at Derby County last season, helping the Rams reach the Championship play-off final.

The 20-year-old netted in the Blues’ friendly victory over St Patrick’s Athletic at the weekend and is expected to be involved in the first-team in the coming campaign.

“It’s a massively proud moment for myself and my family,” Mount told the club’s official website.

“I joined this club at six years old and it was always my goal to play for the first team one day.
