Four Serie A games were already cancelled last weekend, including Inter’s clash with Sampdoria.

The league have now decided it is better to play games in empty stadiums instead of risking the chance of not completing the season.

All sporting events in the areas of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Friuli Venezua Giulia and Emilia Romagna will go ahead without spectators as a result.

Sampdoria-Verona could go ahead inside a full stadium next Monday if special dispensation is received.
