Barcelona’s search for a striker this week led them to Everton’s Richarlison – but they came up short in their pursuit.
Luis Suárez’s season-ending injury saw the Spanish champions linked with a host of names to fill the void, from Rodrigo Moreno to Lautaro Martínez.
Everton have turned down an offer of €100m (£85m) from Barcelona for Brazilian striker Richarlison.–
But Sky Sports News report that Barcelona did table a €100 million offer to the Toffees for Richarlison, despite suggestions in Spain that cast doubt on the claim.
The story goes on to state that Everton rejected the bid immediately as they have no intention of selling the Brazilian in this window for any price.
Their focus is on strengthening the squad and not allowing any key players to move on.
Barça did enquire about the former Watford man last summer as their sporting director Eric Abidal is a big fan of his.
But as was the case last year, they have again came up short in their pursuit.
The 22-year-old has been one of the few bright spots at Goodison Park this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in Premier League action.
