Belgian side Genk have confirmed the signing of midfielder Eboue Kouassi on loan from Celtic for the rest of the season.

The Ivorian arrived from Krasnodar in January 2017 for a fee in the region of £3 million but has failed to have any kind of impact in Glasgow.

Genk announced his arrival on a six-month deal which also includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

They were also keen on signing him three years ago before the 22-year-old ultimately made the move to join Celtic.

During his time at Parkhead, Kouassi made just 22 appearances.

He joins the continued January loan exodus from Glasgow’s east end after both Lee O’Connor and Jack Hendry also departed on temporary deals.
