Corinthians advanced to the second round after a thrilling first-round tie with Argentine champions Racing Club, where they went through on penalties after a pair of 1-1 draws.
Meanwhile, their opponents finished third in Group B of the Copa Libertadores, where they earned five points against Cruzeiro, Emelec, and Huracan.
The winner will face the winner of Uruguayans Montevideo Wanderers and Club Atlético Cerro in the round-of-16.
