Corinthians defeated Fortaleza in comeback fashion on Sunday night propelled by the stellar performance of Pedrinho for the Timão.

Playing with a mixed team due to their duties in the Copa Sul-Americana this week, manager Fábio Carille decided to rest star players, Fagner and Vagner Love.

Fortaleza drew first blood on Corinthians in the 39th minute when Osvaldo was on the receiving end of a perfectly placed Romarinho cross as he headed home the 1-0 lead for the home side at the Castelão.

Trailing 1-0 at the end of the first half, Corinthians made a 180 and come out ready to turn the game around in the second half.

In the 67th minute, Pedrinho sent a cross to Mauro Boselli who headed it home to level the match at one.

Four minutes later, Pedrinho was now on the scoring end as the youngster began a counterattack and dribbled at will by the Fortaleza defenders to give the Timão the 2-1 lead.

10 minutes later, in the 71st minute, Danilo Avelar put he nail in the coffin with a screamer from outside the area to close out the score at 3-1 for Corinthians.

With the win, Corinthians now move to 8th place in the Campeonato Brasileiro with 19 points.
