Liverpool missed the chance to set a new Premier League record for most consecutive wins when they lost at Watford on Saturday.
The 3-0 defeat at Vicarage Road means the league leaders remain level with Manchester City’s 2017/18 side on 18 back-to-back victories.
And it also means they will not emulate Arsenal’s legendary 2004/05 ‘Invincibles’ season.
But Jürgen Klopp’s side are still just four victories away from winning the title, and there are still a host of records they could break between now and the end of the campaign.
Here is how this Liverpool side can make history …
Pep Guardiola’s insatiable ‘Centurions’ became the first and, so far, only side to rack up 100 points after losing just two games on their way to the title.
Liverpool are currently on 79 points, with 30 left to play for.
With 26 wins from 28 games, Liverpool are seven away from achieving this record.
As it stands, the earliest they can now win game number ’33’ will be at home to Burnley on 25 April.
It’s still not in any doubt that Liverpool will end their 30-year wait for a league title this season.
But by how many points will they win it by?
If both Liverpool and City win all of their remaining games, the Reds will equal this record with their gap of 19 points.
Liverpool will need to win their remaining five games at Anfield to hold this record.
An honour which is currently held by Chelsea (2005/06), Manchester United (2010/11) and Manchester City (2011/12 and 2018/19).
The Reds are just three wins away from this record but may find it difficult to overtake Manchester City’s record with Everton, Arsenal and City left to play away from home.
