Referees get a lot of criticism these days and therefore it’s only right that we praise them when they do something well.
On Saturday, Garforth Town took on Bridlington in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and the match produced one of the most extraordinary pieces of refereeing we can recall seeing.
Garforth’s Alex Low tried to halt a Bridlington counter-attack with not one but two separate fouls, both of which the referee deemed were bookable offences.
This is what happened next …
Former Premier League ref Bobby Madley was most impressed …
We don’t know who that referee is but he should be fast-tracked to the big leagues post haste!
