América are all set to compete in their final regular-season match of the 2019 Apertura campaign, which will take place tonight when they face off against Veracruz at the Luis Pirata Fuente stadium.
Despite heavily impressing during his limited minutes with the first-team, manager Miguel Herrera made the controversial decision to discard young Uruguayan striker Federico Viñas for tonight’s match.
Therefore, Viñas laced up his boots and competed with the América U-20 side earlier in the day.
Though Viñas could have easily been discouraged, he put on an excellent performance, scoring a fantastic goal and also providing an assist in their 3-1 victory.

With the Liguilla coming up, Viñas has certainly made his case to be on the substitutes bench and could very well play an important role in their title hopes.
