Summer signing Diogo Dalot made his Manchester United bow on Friday and followed it up with a message for José Mourinho.
The Portuguese defender joined United from Porto but has not yet featured for the club as he was recovering from knee surgery.
That changed on Friday, when Dalot played at Old Trafford for Manchester United U23s against Stoke City U23s.
Diogo Dalot made his Manchester United U23 debut tonight vs Stoke City U23. First game in a long time for him so it will only get better from here, love his step overs and the way how he wants to run past a defender followed by a cross. pic.twitter.com/F4wyTDFMe8

“I always had it on my mind that I had to be calm, take it step by step, because the injury was not too bad but it required some patience and I needed that,” Dalot told the club’s official website after completing 79 minutes.
“It was nice, the atmosphere was good, I can imagine if the stadium is full and I am very happy to come back.
“It feels good to be back.
”It was a special night, getting my first minutes after four long months and I am really happy. It is a really special moment for me. I just want to take this opportunity to thank the amazing medical department and the coach, who has believed in me since day one.“
On top of that, the 19-year-old had a message for José Mourinho, who was at Old Trafford to watch the game.
“Now I am here and I am ready to play whenever the coach thinks I am ready.”
